Join us on Saturday, May 9th, when our special guest will be Chris Giles. The topic for this webinar is “Google Chrome Extensions for the Classroom” and we're in for a treat. Chris is planning a very engaging, hands-on experience that will be somewhat different from our usual presentations. Come prepared to log into your Chrome browser and be ready to explore and install extensions during several hands-on segments in the session. If you plan to do the hands-on exploring with us, you might find it helpful to use this link with some pre-show instructions to help you prepare.(optional)
In this webinar we will explore various Chrome extensions that can increase productivity in our students and classrooms. Integrating Chrome extensions in the classroom can encourage students to create original works in innovative ways as well as plan, conduct and manage research using appropriate digital resources and tools. We'll explore best teaching practices for collaborating, communicating, creating and thinking critically with selected Chrome extensions. A bonus in this webinar is that for our participants who do online training you will get to experience how you could make your online webinars more interactive following his example.
Chris lives in Phoenix, Arizona where he is currently busy creating and facilitating PD for teachers across the state with the AZ Dept. of Education. He and his family recently moved back from Brazil, (where he and his wife both taught). Chris is a former MYP Design Technology teacher, a K-5 PYP technology teacher, and the technology coordinator at an IB school. In addition to his international teaching experience, Chris has over 15 years of teaching experience in public schools. Chris's passion is promoting the integration of technology in the classroom and he has facilitated technology-rich staff development for over 8 years including workshops at Tech Camps for teachers.
