Date:  Saturday March 29, 2014
Time: 9:00a

Location: Blackboard Collaborate

On Classroom 2.0 LIVE we love introducing you to free tools, teaching resources and educational leaders that will support teaching and learning in your classrooms. We are excited to have Brad Hanks as our special guest presenter on March 29th to share an amazing web-based diagramming program that is completely free for educators and students called LucidChart. Brad is the Education Outreach Manager for LucidChart and will show us some of its many features as well as some great examples of graphics created by teachers.

Lucidchart is a web-based diagramming program that’s completely free for educators and students.  With LucidChart, both you and your students can quickly sketch up a variety of visual communications: Venn diagrams, mind maps, graphic organizers, flowcharts, and much more.  Teachers can manage a team account that allows them to collaborate with their students' work in real time. If your school district is one of the many that uses Google Apps/Google Drive, you’ll be happy to hear about Lucidchart’s deep integration with both services. These integrations simplify the entire process of sign on, sharing, creating, and organizing, from one central location in Drive. With the LucidChart iPad app you can view and edit diagrams from anywhere. You can incorporate visual learning whether your students are sitting in a classroom, learning about biology in an outside lab, or touring a historical building during a field trip. It’s easy to tie assignments together and explore cross-curricular studies when you have a flexible, inspiring tool like Lucidchart in your back pocket. You are invited to tweet using the hashtags #golucid and #liveclass20 to let people know about the show to win LucidChart prizes and swag.

Google offers us so many tools for enhancing the teaching/learning experience for both teachers and students! Unfortunately, too often we find that we know something about them but don't really know how we could use them in our classrooms. Melissa Murphy to the rescue! Melissa created an entire series of blogs posts about various ways she has been using Google Forms in her classroom and she will be our special guest presenter for this session to share her passion for Google Forms and to describe how she is using them in the classroom. Melissa is a Google Certified Teacher and teaches 6h, 7th & 8th grade students in Belmar Elementary School in Belmar, NJ. She has just been announced as the Belmar District Teacher of the Year for 2014! We are so excited to have her joining us and we hope you'll join us too and spread the word about the webinar with your educator friends.
