We decided it was time to get an update on what's new and exciting with HyperDocs and are thrilled to welcome Joli Boucher as our special guest presenter this week to do exactly that!! Please join us for renewed inspiration and practical ideas to help you make HyperDocs an integral part of your teaching repertoire!

Webinar Description:
Over the past couple years, educators around the globe have been sharing their enthusiasm for HyperDocs all over social media. During this webinar, we will explore how HyperDocs can be used to create meaningful, empowering, differentiated lessons for your elementary students. We will explore different examples and digital tools that will not only engage your students, but also help create fabulous inquiry-based, self-paced activities.

We are so excited to be joined by Lisa Thumann, Google educator extraordinaire in our upcoming show on Saturday, November 22! Lisa was one of our very first presenters when our weekly webinars began in 2009 and now she is back to continue her Google extravaganza with us for show #229! Between all of the updates to Google Apps Education Edition this summer and all the little known treasures we sometimes forget about, Lisa will take us on a quick tour through "20 Need-To-Know Features of GAFE You Should be Using Today!"

Blackboard Collaborate (full recording):

Due to a recording glitch, it was necessary to re-record the first half of the webinar so the full Collaborate recording is not available. Huge thanks to Lisa for helping us re-create the first part. Both parts of her presentation are in the video and audio provided below. The best view of the video is possible by clicking on "Watch on YouTube" so the screensharing will be larger. If you'd like to view the Blackboard Collaborate recording to see the full screen clearly (and don't mind a few technical glitches you can watch it in two parts.

Google offers us so many tools for enhancing the teaching/learning experience for both teachers and students! Unfortunately, too often we find that we know something about them but don't really know how we could use them in our classrooms. Melissa Murphy to the rescue! Melissa created an entire series of blogs posts about various ways she has been using Google Forms in her classroom and she will be our special guest presenter for this session to share her passion for Google Forms and to describe how she is using them in the classroom. Melissa is a Google Certified Teacher and teaches 6h, 7th & 8th grade students in Belmar Elementary School in Belmar, NJ. She has just been announced as the Belmar District Teacher of the Year for 2014! We are so excited to have her joining us and we hope you'll join us too and spread the word about the webinar with your educator friends.

Zoe Midler - Featured Teacher

Zoe Midler was our September Featured Teacher. She shared some of the awesome things she does as a teacher-librarian at Flagstaff Academy in Longmont, CO. She is also a Google Certified Teacher and is Flagstaff's Google Czar. We learned about what it means to be an embedded librarian and many ways Google apps can support collaboration.

About Zoe:
Zoe comes to academia from the corporate world, she worked in the high-tech field as a software product manager for Exelis, the makers of IDL and ENVI, Wolfram Research, the makers of Mathematica and Wolfram|Alpha, and Leopard Communications as a Senior Project Manager and Online Marketing Strategist.

Zoe is not a rocking chair librarian. She is a tireless evangelist for information literacy, contextually relevant collaboration, and embedded librarianship. She fosters an atmosphere in the library media center that encourages students to investigate and scrutinize all aspects of the information environment and become discerning consumers of technology and information. You can find her at http://zmidler.blogspot.com/
