Join us on Saturday, May 2nd, when our special guest will be Lisa Parisi. We are so excited to have Lisa on Classroom 2.0 LIVE as our Featured Teacher for the month of May! This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about some of the amazing ways Lisa is effectively integrating technology into her 5th grade classroom with a strong focus on global connections and collaboration with other classes/educators around the world! Lisa was recently recognized as one of the Top 50 Finalists for the Global Teacher Prize for her achievements in the classroom and beyond as a model of excellence.
Lisa is an elementary teacher, author, Google Certified Teacher, DEN LC, Smart Exemplary Educator, Glogster, Fablevision, and Voki ambassador, and Blogger. Helping her students become caring citizens of the world guides everything she does in the classroom at Denton Avenue Elementary School in New Hyde Park. She encourages children to rely on each other in class and this in turn motivates them to excel. She connects her pupils with other children around the world for Skype calls, holds online discussions with experts and authors, and organizes long-term collaborative research projects such as her ‘Natural Disasters and Us’ award-winning wiki project. Lisa shares her insights on project-based learning, the responsive classroom, online tools and globalizing the room at conferences, via social media and through her publications.
